  2. Identify The Speaker First person Noah,Ethan,Julian, and Nadia .Here's some textual evidence. • Noah surged. Not every other being on he planet. • Mother said"They probably have good food." • Eathan said"The Person at the counter is really nice".

  3. Type of Fiction It is realistic fiction here are some sentences from the book • "Its a very popular puzzle we are expecting another shipment next week."The guy behind the counter said. • "More sandwiches and tea Ethan" .Ethan's mom said. • "See" Ethan said grinning.

  4. Problem  The problem is Man v.s Society. The Souls had to compete  against 7th and 8th graders. The main events that lead to the problem was that Ms. Olinski had to choose four students to compete in the competition.Another main event that lead to the problem was that some people said that Ms. Olinski could never win the competition. Textual Evidence:  • Page 153 says The Souls had to compete against 7th and 8th graders and they had to win. • Page 94 says that Ms. Olinski had to choose the four students she thought could win her the competition. • Page 96 says that people told Ms. Olinski could never win the bowling bowl.

  5. Solution  The solution was that The Souls won the competition against the 7th and 8th graders. The events that lead to the solution was that The Souls practiced everyday at lunch. They worked hard and they never gave up. Textual Evidence: •  Page 154 says The Souls and Ms. Olinski shared the trophy. • Page 127 says that The Souls practiced everyday at lunch and during activities hour at eleven-thirty and one o'clock. • Page 129 says how Ms. Olinski and The Souls worked hard so they could get the trophy.

  6. Character Analysis Noah:He is a crazy type and he likes to do his own thing and by accident was the best man of his grandmother's an Nadia's grandfather wedding Nadia: Is a hybrid-a person who is a blend of two cultures or traditions, with a red halo ,and has a dog who is a genius. Nadia also loves turtles Ethan: Is a quiet type of person who happens to like red halos and is afraid to show it. Julian: An independent type of person who is really strange and had a strange way of making friends. He had a tea party. Textual Evidence • Page 15 says that Noah's grandmother was freaking out because the best man said he couldn't make it. Noah stepped in and became the best man. •  Page 30 says that Nadia was helping her father with the turtles and says that her red halo shinned in the sun. • Page 68 explains that every time Julian got in the bus he was bullied, and Eathan didn't do anything about it. Page 74 says that he was always staring at Nadia because he liked her,but he never did anything about it.

  7. Influence of Setting The setting created the problem because the Souls had to win the bowling competition. People were saying Ms.Olinksi could never win the Bowling competition. Mrs. Olinski ended up winning the competition  though.

  8. Plot Line • First, the author was talking about Noah writing the B&B letters. Then,Nadia tells about the turtle love.  • After that,Ethan explains the B&B letter Inn.  • Next Julian narrates when Ginger played Annie's Sandy. • Last, the Souls win the championship.

  9. Theme I think the author is trying to tell you that if you try hard you'll accomplish your goals. In the story Ms. Olinski is competing in the bowling competition . The other teachers said that The Souls were going to lose because she had 6th grades and the other teachers had 7th and 8th grades.

  10. Literary Devices

  11. Literary Devices This book is chronological because the author says everything in order from beginning to end. • First the author talks about Mrs.Olinski and how she is going to be in the bowling national finals. • Then it talks about who she is going to pick for her bowling team. •  Then they go of to win the championship!

  12. Plot is contrived or realistic Yes this story can happen in real life, because 6th graders can win a competition,a boy can like a girl, and people can have a tea party.  Textual evidence • 6th graders can beat 8th graders in a competition pg 155 • Eathan says he likes girls with halos and Nadia happens to have a red halo pg 31 • A person can invite some people to his/her tea party pg 125
