Tameside General Hospital, located in Ashton-under-Lyne, just 8 miles east of Manchester, serves a diverse population of over 250,000 from the industrial areas of Tameside and the rural community of Glossop. Our state-of-the-art facilities include a new theatre suite, fully refurbished emergency and children’s departments, and a dedicated medical education department. We pride ourselves on a 1:1 consultant-student ratio, weekly teaching, and an exceptional experience for medical students. Who are we? • One site, situated at the foot of the Pennines • Eight miles to the east of Manchester • Services a population of over 250,000 • Population concentrated in the largely industrialised areas of the eight townships of Tameside • Also serve rural community of Glossop, with its population of approximately 28,000
