About Red Fern Red Fern Animal Shelter is a no-kill, not for profit animal shelter Currently has 94 dogs and 103 cats Tries to facilitate the permanent adoption of these animals as well as promoting spay / neuter procedures to reduce pet overpopulation Sanctuary for animals unsuitable for adoption

  3. What You Will Be Doing Helping build a new dog trail Setting up new fences Replacing chain links on existing fences Build sanctuary for cats Mostly outside work Work Hours: 9 am – 3 pm *Note: schedule is tentative, will depend on non-profit’s needs!

  4. Where we will be staying St. Jude Catholic Church (435 Moody Ave., Martin, Tennessee 38237) – 7.7 miles away from Red Fern Animal Shelter Floor space provided Has a kitchen (we will get food from a nearby grocery store) Shower 0.7 miles away at University of Tennessee at Martin

  5. What to Bring Close-toed shoes Old clothes you are willing to get dirty Bring clothes for 35-50 degree weather Tools and work gloves will be provided by Red Fern Animal Shelter Sleeping bag + pillow Bathroom supplies Cards / board games / any other entertainment

  6. Trip Details Located in Dresden, TN 436 miles away Approximately 7 hours away Leaving UIC December 15th Arriving back at UIC December 21st Staying at St. Jude Catholic Church
