Continued work on FY05 IBPD • 2. Updated PAR for OMB review comments. • This week • 1.Complete all Theme reports, including AA approval by Friday. • All IBPD sections to OMB for • review by Friday. • 3. Receive draft audit statement and update PAR management letters. Primary Challenge Maintain green status by delivering on Proud to Be commitments and assuring that best practices are sustained and diffused throughout agency. Last week 1. Participated in opening session of OPM Audit at MSFC. This week 1. Continued discussions with OPM on potential regulatory requirements for new performance management systems.2. Preparing for—and participating in OPM audits at JSC, ARC, HQ, GSFC, and GRC. • Acceptable business cases for all major systems. • Bring operational IT systems within 90% secure threshold. • Reduce cost/schedule overruns to 10% standard. • Primary Challenge • Meeting IT security challenges • given implementation of new NIST • standards. • Last week • Development of IT security plan categorization to facilitate management of NASA’s systems and correct weaknesses. • This week • 1. Finalizing IT POP guidance to ensure that E-Gov and related initiatives are addressed. • Develop a “green” plan acceptable to OMB. • Primary Challenge • Finalize the site selection to • prevent schedule impact to the • NSSC competition. • Last week • Letters were sent to Congress with copies of the OMB approved 2003 FAIR Act Inventory. • The preliminary data call for the 2004 FAIR Act Inventory was prepared. • This week • A communications plan/stakeholder meeting will be held on January 21-22 with the NSSC program office, the ACST, and the PWS leads to establish boundaries and provide communication strategies regarding the competition. • Resolve remaining material weaknesses, and bring systems into compliance with FFMIA. • Issue unqualified assurance statement under FFMIA. • Primary Challenge • Primary issue is to maintain • unqualified audit opinion during • transition to new accounting • system. • Last week • After delivery of Draft Financial Statements to OIG and PWC on December 10, 2003, began meeting with PWC twice daily to discuss their issues. • Began providing to PWC SAP sample items with supporting documentation. • This week • Continue to work with OIG/PWC on addressing issues related to the financial statement audit.
