  4. Some Trainings May or May Not Be Approvable Under TAA Non-Approvable Correspondence courses Self-paced training programs Training that requires the worker to pay any part of the total cost of the training Training that costs more than what other students pay

  6. NYS Training Funding Caps • Training Program Up to 52weeks - $10,000 • Training Program Up to 130 weeks - $20,000

  7. Documents Needed for Training Approval A “Threatened Status” Or “Determination of Entitlement” (form #TA722)

  12. You’ll Have to Take the TABE

  13. TEST OF ADULT BASIC EDUCATION Why? Needed for vocational training acceptance and college enrollment. Recent college transcripts may be used instead of the TABE.

  14. More on the TABE GST BOCES Administers the TABE Assessment and will be at Sikorsky November 5th, 7th and 14th Test times 8:00 am and 1:00 pm **Sign up following this meeting**

  17. TAA Training Contributions

  18. Admissions to Training Facility • Begin the admissions process. • Ask for an application fee waiver. Request an educational plan upon meeting with an advisor.

  19. There are some items you’ll need lined up to get approved for training.

Your Next Meeting with the with the Chemung Schuyler or Steuben TAA Counselors Please bring: Threatened Status Letter followed up by your Determination of Eligibility (TA722)  Driver’s License/ID  Resume  TABE Scores or College Transcripts  Any financial aid and school information you have collected

  21. Groups Will Occur…. November 2nd, November 9th November 16th & November 30th Please complete this group meeting and TABE Assessment . You will the be scheduled for an Individual TAA Counseling Appointment in the Chemung, Schuyler Steuben One-Stop of your preference. *** Please note: if you would like to access training funds in an area outside Chemung Schuyler or Steuben counties please contact them for an appointment.
