  1. International Technology Collaboration Case Study 5Wind Power Integration into Electricity Systems Debra Justus (OECD) Paris, 22 March 2005

  2. Wind Power – from farm to grid

  3. Electricity Generation from Wind1990- 2002

  4. Current Focus of Grid Integration Research • Wind power prediction tools • Tools for grid system optimisation • New designs for reinforcing and extending grids • Analysis & Development of technical codes and international standards

  5. Some Collaborations In Grid Integration Research • IEA Wind: (1977) 19 countries & EC grid work – 2002 • CIGRE: (1921) 80 countries grid work – 2002 • Dispower: (2001) Europe grid work 2001 • Riso Wind: (1977) DK & int’l grid work 1999

  6. Some Lessons Learned • Market changing polices need to engage stakeholders all along the commercialisation chain. • Technology development is a continuum that spans from RD&D through market deployment with a need for collaboration also in deployment phase.
