  2. Cold Facts • We have more than 1 billion colds annually • No remedy cures the common cold • You can reduce the chances of catching a cold • You can feel better when you are sick

  3. When You Are Feeling Sick • Get plenty of rest • Drink lots of fluids • Consume chicken soup

  4. If Your Throat Is Sore • Gargle with warm salt water • Let a lozenge dissolve slowly in your mouth • Choose one with menthol and mild anesthetic

  5. If Your Nose Is Stuffy • Try a decongestant • Shrinks blood vessels • Do not take for more than three days • Try an antihistamine • Relieves a runny nose, itching, and sneezing • Has a drying effect

  6. Avoid a Cold • Stay away from other people with colds • Wash your hands frequently • Keep your hands away from your mouth and nose • Dispose of tissues Promptly
