What is Title 1? • Part of the federal No Child Left Behind Act • Largest federal primary and secondary education program. • The funds help educators support children in economically challenged communities. • It ensures that parents have opportunities to be involved in their child’s education. • Schools and districts receiving funds must show annual academic improvement. • NYS annual yearly progress [AYP] in ELA and Math

  3. How do Frontier students benefit from Title 1? • All teachers employed in Frontier are highly qualified and certified to teach their assigned subject/grade level. • AIS [Academic Intervention Services] and SAIS [ Supplemental Academic Intervention Services] • Provide support to students in ELA, math, science and social studies • Frontier has historically concentrated on supporting student literacy.

Grades 3-8 NYS Testing Program • Designed to evaluate the implementation of the state’sCommon Core LearningStandards at the student, school, district and state levels • Provide information about students’ preparedness for study at the next grade level and College and Career Readiness • Identify students who need additional academic assistance • Help schools measure the effectiveness of instructional programs and measure yearly student progress

Grade 11 Regents Exam NYS Testing Program • Verify that students are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary for high school graduation • Aligned with NYS Common Core Learning Standards • Evaluate quality of instruction and learning • Provide students, parents, counselors, college admissions officers with objective information for use in making sound educational and vocational decisions

  10. Frontier Literacy Assessment AIMSWeb Assessment K-8 • AIMSweb is a benchmark and progress monitoring system based on direct, frequent and continuous student assessment. The results can be reported to students, parents, teachers and administrators via a web-based data management and reporting system to determine response to intervention.
