  2. 6th Richmond Hill Scout Group • 6th Richmond Hill Scout Group was established in 1996 and sponsored by St. Agnes KouyingTsao Catholic Church • We have been active as a Group for 20 years • One of the Catholic Scouts Groups in York Region • The largest group in Canada • All Scouters are volunteers • Our Group covers all sections: Beaver Colony, Cub Pack, Scout Troop, Venture Company and Rover Crew • Cub Pack is designed for children aged 8 to 10 years old

  4. 6th Richmond Hill Scout Group How our group was named ? *Fr Nicola Ruggiero, the first pastor of our Church, initiated the scout group. His Chinese name is “Luk Chi Lok”. Luk means SIX. *Before our church in Markham was completed in 2001, our church was in Richmond Hill. Fr Ruggiero

Lair formation and youth leaders • We will have 8 sub groups. • Four sub groups form a Pack. • Park 1 and 2 • Each group called Lair • Sixes = Lairs • 1st year cubs 2008 = Runners • 2nd year cubs 2007 = Trackers • 3rd year cubs 2006 = Howlers • ( no sixer and second) • Pack 1: Red, Orange, Yellow and Green • Pack 2: Blue, Black, Brown and Grey

  13. Scouting Year and Meeting Place • The Scouting year will start in Mid September and end in Mid June. • No regular meetings during school holidays. It includes Christmas, New Year holidays and March Break. • We meets weekly on Thursday night from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at • Sir John A Macdonald Public School (45 Murison Drive, Markham, Ontario L6C 0J4)

What we expect from you: Regular Meetings • Parents to inform Scouters of any absences • Cubs to arrive between 7:15pm and 7:30pm • There might not be enough Scouters before 7:15pm • Late arrivals will not be allowed to join the opening “Grand Howl” • Cubs to go to washrooms before meetings • Cubs to arrive in full uniform (including name tag, scarf, leather shoes and white socks) • Cubs with incomplete uniform will not participate in the opening and closing ceremonies

What we expect from you: • Event Registration • A circular will be distributed via email for special events. • We will not provide paper circular • Submit reply form and any fees, if applicable, by deadline to complete registration • Refunds will not be issued • Unregistered participants will not be accepted at the event

  16. What we expect from you: Readcommunications from Scouters on any special notice and events Parents to arrange for transportation to meetings and events, unless otherwise notified Parents to pick up child(ren) on time Do NOT post the photo without other’s consent on social media

What we expect from you: • Sign In/ Sign out • Do not drop off Cubs outside of the school for safety reasons • Parents to ensure authorized list is up to date and inform • Scouters of any changes Authorized list contains a list of • names whom you authorize to pick up your kid • Scouters will not release your child if he/she is not picked • up by an authorized Person

  21. Cub Pack Program CATHOLIC ELEMENTS IN OUR PROGRAM - Lord’s prayer and Hail Mary - Participate in our Church’s Mass twice a year (Oct and May), Holy Thursday Mass and Catholic Scout Mass - Religion in life (Catholic) training

  22. ScoutsTracker System • A system which shows the calendar of our Cub Pack program for the year • A system which you can check and monitor the progress of your children • You will receive an e-mail to set up access to the system
