Holy Savior Behavior Survey Results Michael Meyer 2013-2014
6 Students with BIST Plans • We have 6 Middle School students with BIST plans • MAP TESTING (Fall/Winter) • MATH: 2 Declined/2 Improved • READING: 2 Declined/2 Improved • 2 Declined in Both Areas • NONE Improved in Either Area • NOTE: There are 2 third grade students with plans but I didn’t have their MAP scores
Students Without BIST Plans • 9 Middle School students on “Watch” list based on grades and behaviors • MAP TESTING (Fall/Winter) • MATH: 1 Improved • READING: 1 Improved • 7 Declined in Both Areas • NONE Improved in Either Areas
What Can We Learn From This? • The staff knows BIST • The staff needs to use BIST consistently and persistently to address disrespect and insubordination • Students with BIST plans tend to perform better on MAP Tests • More attention to helping students address behavior issues may lead to greater academic success • Are we meeting the needs of our students by not utilizing the resource we have available?
For Further Consideration • How are we recognizing positive behavior? • What are we doing to build character in our students? • How can we improve our school and increase enrollment if we do not improve student behavior? • What are the barriers for us as staff? • Other?
