  1. How To Get the Most Out of Your Bathroom Remodel

  2. Budget is usually the one factor that determines the style and size of a bathroom remodel, but if you have less money to spend and still want to give your bathroom a new look, you should be able to achieve it. The average cost of a bathroom remodel comes in at around $10,000, but with luxury elements, it can quickly rise to as much $25,000. How much you spend on your bathroom remodel will depend upon its current condition and how much work is needed to transform the space into a modern bathroom that’s a pleasure to use. You might be able to get away with a few cosmetic transformations for less than $10,000, but for any major remodelling, that will typically be the bare minimum you’ll need to spend.

  3. While your general contractor will help guide you when it comes to sticking to your budget, here are a few tips you can also follow to keep both the budget and the project, on track: Splurge, but splurge thoughtfully ● Of course you should be able to splurge on certain aspects of your bathroom remodel, but if you’re on a tighter budget, you’ll need to think carefully about where you splurge in order to protect your limited funds. Cutting the cost on other aspects of your remodel such as lighting, might be an option to allow you to splurge on a custom built double vanity, for example.

  4. Don’t tile the entire bathroom ● Good quality tiles can get expensive, but if you really want expensive and attractive looking tiles, consider using them in certain areas of the bathroom, instead of having them everywhere. Alternatively, you could use the costlier tiles as features used in conjunction with other, cheaper tiles. Repaint the bathroom ● Much less expensive than tiling, painting (or repainting) your bathroom will help you save a lot of money, and if done well, can still be highly effective. If you’re working with a reliable and experienced general, they’ll be sure to have their painter use high quality paint with a satin finish to prevent mold and mildew from building up.

  5. Update the fixtures ● Smaller details in a bathroom can really help to tie a remodel together, and unify the entire space. Updating light and plumbing fixtures, towel racks and cabinet pulls, for example, are all cost effective ways to upgrade without spending a fortune. With a reliable general contractor to guide you, you can’t go too far wrong when trying to get the most out of a bathroom remodel, even when on a strict budget. Take the time to find the right contractor for you and your needs, and with their help, you can get a wonderful new bathroom to use and enjoy yourself, or to help you sell your home quicker and for more money.
