Background of the Study The financial sector all around the globe has undergone transformation, based on technological changes which have changed the face of banking sector. The banks and financial institutes of Pakistan are no exception and based on technological advancement, there is need to make reliance on competitive human resources, who have differentiated skills inventory to excel in competitive era of technology Human Resource Function Financial Competence Firm Technology Performance Transformation in Banking Systems
Problem Statement 1 2 3 With the modernization of information technology tools and its impact on the firm’s competitive positioning, the banks operating at international level has started to adopt this technology to experience the extraordinary advantages of technology. However, the implication of this investment on the human resource of the banks is still undiscovered and the banks of Pakistan have also not made use of most advanced technology tools to take advantage out of it (Wang et al, 2017). Limited Research As the banking system in digital world has evolved and showed its effectiveness in the various regions in term of improving HR practices, the implication of strategic IT investment in Pakistani banks is still unexplored (Sarda et al, 2018; Bencic Zarko, 2019). Evolving Field The research is aimed to finding the solution to the problems present in the financial sector of Pakistan in term of HRM issues and the issue of overall growth of the banks. The underlying factors which are considered as the driver of growth are the financial competency and effective human resource management. (Onik et al, 2018; Sime and Themelis,2018). Theory & Model
Significance of the Research …the notion of using advanced IT tools such as data science and big data analysis in HR, in the context of Pakistani banks, are completely new and thus it will add significantly in the stream of growing literature. Research Gap … reliance on HR functions is not enough, unless it is being supported by intervening factors (Solnet, Kralj & Baum, 2015; Sharma & Sengupta, 2018).
