Over the past decade, significant victories for veterans have been achieved, including major pay raises for currently serving personnel, upgrades in survivor benefits, and the defeat of TRICARE fee hikes. Other successes include enhancements in GI Bill transferability, Wounded Warrior protections, and caregiver improvements. Despite these wins, challenges remain, such as potential cuts to the defense budget and the impact of sequestration. Ongoing efforts to recruit and retain chapter memberships are crucial for continuing advocacy and support for veterans' rights and benefits.
