Protecting Kids: Promoting Flu Vaccine in LISD for Better Health

Our proposal aims to promote student well-being by advocating for the mandatory flu vaccine in the Lubbock Independent School District (LISD). The flu poses serious health risks, especially for children, and we highlight the importance of vaccination to reduce the spread of the virus. The vaccine has proven effectiveness in preventing flu-related complications. We address health concerns, potential exemptions, and the positive impact of vaccination on school attendance and overall community health in Lubbock. The Flu Each year 200,000 people are hospitalized because of the flu and subsequent health complications As parents know children are particularly susceptible to the flu and are also the most likely to spread the flu.
