Chemical Industries Chemical Industries are the prime factors to convert the raw materials into desired products that we use in our day-to-day life. The chemical industry can also be described simply as "the industry that uses chemistry and manufactures chemicals", this definition isn't altogether satisfactory because it leaves open the question of what is chemical. Definitions that are adopted for statistical economic purposes vary from country to country.
What does the chemical industry produce? The products of the industry are often divided into three categories: • Basic chemicals • Specialty chemicals • Consumer chemicals
The chemical industry is viewed as a cultural issue solver; it helps the farm industry to ensure steady and feasible food supply, also helped in the destruction of dangerous insects and pests by creating life-sparing pharmaceuticals and compound pesticides, created plastics and engineered products and much more. Throughout the years the chemical industry has been an essential division of the newly industrialized economy.
The chemical industry: Environmental Safety Regulations There are serious concerns about the potential impact of certain chemicals on living organisms, including ourselves, and on the natural environment. These concerns include air, land and sea pollution, global warming and climate changes, ozone depletion and acid rain.
Safety must be at the top level of the chemical industry’s agenda and for a good reason. Many of the products are potentially hazardous at some stage during their manufacture and transport. These chemicals could also be solids, liquids or gases, flammable, explosive, corrosive and/or toxic. Manufacturing processes frequently involve high temperatures, high pressures, and reactions which may be dangerous unless carefully controlled. as a result of this, the industry operates within the protection limits demanded by national and international legislation.
Returning to our question from the beginning “Why is that the chemical industry Important”, we will answer now. Without a doubt, the Chemical industry is typically brought up as a source of enabling technology.
