A 30-DAY GRATITUDE CHALLENGE On October 30, 2015, the month of November was declared to be National Gratitude Month in both the US and Canada. In my musings this month, I will reflect on the three people with whom I spend a lot of time with each week. I want to let them know how grateful I am to have them in my life. First I want to express gratitude for Jade, my business partner extraordinaire!!!! Jade’s leadership skills are over the top, and it is so nice having her on this journey with me. I also want to express gratitude for Dina, my Goddess of the Grove-in- training. Dina’s loving cleaning touch has each of the accommodations sparkling and inviting. And Trai, thank you for always stepping up. When I am stressed out about something not working, you add your magic touch to the situation. Each Tuesday, is a workday at the Grove for Jade, Dina, Trai, and me. We have a “not so long list” of to do projects, and we work together on Tuesdays to get things done. It’s a great day to create camaraderie, and I love so much working as a group.
A 30-DAY GRATITUDE CHALLENGE Another thing that I am grateful for was going to Oak Island in the beginning of November with Jade for our second annual business retreat. Aside from reflecting on business, we took time to take Murphy and Max to the beach each day for some nice long walks. We also experienced the thrill of thrift store shopping, where I came across some great finds for the Grove and Jade acquired some new treasures for herself. Another day, we took the ferry over to Bald Head Island and biked around for the day with a friend that we had met in a thrift store the day before. HOW TO PLAN A WEEKEND RETREAT We actually got a lot accomplished from a business perspective and incorporated having fun, as well. I want to end my musings with a few facts about gratitude. Research shows that practicing daily gratitude can enhance our moods, decrease stress, and drastically improve our overall level of well-being. On average, grateful people tend to be happier, healthier; more physically fit, have a higher income, and have much more satisfying personal and professional relationships. Wow!!! Those findings alone make me excited to start practicing gratitude on a regular basis. I am encouraging everyone to accept a 30-day challenge of expressing gratitude each day and see if things change. Source: https://sacredgroveretreat.com/gratitude/
