KEY FEATURES • PATENTED ALUMINUM MANIFOLD (Patent no.: EP 1367343 US 6,826,925) • Main component of the station which has made it possible to minimize the number of internal connection hoses, thanks to the piping inside the manifold, and the integration of the oil-refrigerant separator, offering numerous advantages, including • : • RAPID RECOVERY • LEAK PROTECTION • EASY ASSEMBLY • EASY ACCESS FOR SERVICE • AUTOMATICDISCHARGE OF NON-CONDENSABLE GAS • Recycling refrigerant from old poorly maintained systems can result in the recovery of air (non-condensable vapors), which can contain moisture, and become stratified inside the bottle, dangerously raising the pressure. • To prevent this the Delphi Machines: • Use pressure and temperature Transducers for the bottle pressure • Automatic air purge with solenoid valve • Possibility to purge across compete temperaturerange • Prevents moisture being added to the vehicle during the refrigerant charging

KEY FEATURES • SAE J-2210 AND SAE J-2788 • This Standard ensures that pure recycled refrigerant is recovered at the end of the process: • Only European manufacturer able to produce machines comply with the AmericanUL-ETLStandard which include the severe purity test of SAE J-2210: •  Residual oil < 500 ppm • Humidity < 50 ppm • Non condensable gas < 150 ppm • In European Markets the technology is branded High Precision which is based on the J-2788 standard which is more stringent than SAE J-2210, and will require: •  recover 95% of the refrigerant • Recharge accuracy +/- 15 grams • Recovery accuracy +/- 30 grams • This will result in: • saving of about 20% by increasing refrigerant recovery • Increased charge accuracy minimizing problems with over-filling • Especially important with increasing costs of R134a Gas

Refrigerant change to R1234yf • Should your customers ask for information regarding “The new refrigerant” you might find the following information useful. • EU legislation has mandated the change from R134a to R1234yf • For global warming reasons (R1234yf has GWP 4) • Applies to all vehicles homologated after Jan 1 2011 • Only Mercedes, so far, have confirmed they will use this refrigerant in November 2011 • In the IAM workshops may start to see cars in 2012 • The transfer to the new refrigerant is expected to be completed by 2017 • What equipment do I need? • A dedicated R1234yf machine – Delphi Part Number AT41652 • R1234yf Machines in Stock in Delphi Warehouse • Some manufacturers are offering dual gas machines • This machine can only be used on 1 vehicle at a time – limiting use • 10 to 15 minute change over between refrigerants – limiting availability

This kit can also be used to verify the settings of the pressure switches and gauges. Leak Detection • AT41570 – Electronic Leak Detector- • Main characteristics • This refrigerant leak detector has an electro-chemical sensor made of ceramic substrate covered with a reagent. The sensor is kept at a high temperature by an in-built mechanism. It is sensitive to all CFCs (R12, R11), HFCs (R134a) and HCFCs (R22, R123). When one of these gases comes in contact with the hot surface, the chlorine, fluorine and bromine atoms separate from their molecules and ionise. This produces an electrical current that, passing through the ceramic material, reaches an electrode in the centre of the sensor. The detector is • automatic and does not have to be set for a particular type of refrigerant. It compensates automatically for variations in background contamination and humidity. An audible variable pitch signal pinpoints the exact source of the leak. • Certifications UL - CE
