About CTAI • CTAI is a non-profit membership association dedicated to improving mobility in Idaho. • CTAI works with consumers, stakeholders and leaders while advocating for safe, cost effective, accessible, integrated and affordable mobility services and systems throughout the state. • Collective voice for transportation providers, mobility advocates, stakeholders and consumers

  5. What Is Mobility? • Mobility is about people and movement. • Mobility goes beyond cars and public transportation. • Mobility includes ALL modes of travel. Such as: • Shuttles/Buses • Walking Paths • Bike Paths • Personal Vehicle • Rideshare/Vanpools • Highways and Roadways • School Buses • Trains

  6. Idaho’s Coordinated Mobility System Grass-roots mobility system featuring 17 local networks led by local leaders, users, providers, service agencies, and other stakeholders.

  7. I-way is a growing statewide system that connects people in Idaho through a mix of exciting transportation options, giving Idaho an economic and quality-of-life advantage, while helping keep our state clean and beautiful.

Value of Improved Mobility • Maintain Excellent Quality of Life in Idaho • Allow aging population to “Age in Place” • Maintain Rural Culture and Stimulate Local Economic Growth • Utilize Recreational Opportunities • Keep Idaho Beautiful and Clean • Provide Safe Transportation Options • Improve Access to Health Care, Work, School and Other Necessary Appointments

Value of Improved Mobility Victor, Idaho • Improve Victor Transit Center in southern Teton County • Transit center is connected to the regional pathway • Access by pedestrians, bicyclists, or commuters • Economic asset to many people in the area • Accommodate more commuters • Reduce congestion • Safer trip

Riggins, Idaho • Grassroots project that serves Riggins and the surrounding areas • Ridership increased 350 percent since September 2008 • Received funds to expand existing service • Now offering services Monday-Friday • Expanded area to include New Meadows, in addition to Riggins, Lucille, Pinehurst, Slate Creek and Whitebird • Improve mobility for the communities Value of Improved Mobility

Value of Improved Mobility • National Governor’s Association Study • “Greater coordination between public transit and ancillary transportation programs frees up sufficient resources to substantially improve overall public transportation service delivery. • In a comparison of the cost and efficiency of transportation services before and after coordination, a study by the Community Transportation Association of America presented case studies from five states that showed average reductions of 50 percent in passenger-trip costs and 28 percent in vehicle-hour costs after coordination activities were implemented.”
