COVID-19 has affected all our lives and has made severe changes in our lifestyle. We all are following social distancing and are locked in our homes. While maintaining social distancing and been at home, it is really important to keep the home and surrounding hygienic and clean. We may normally follow a cleaning routine but during these tough times, we have to be extra careful of our surroundings. Tile filler or grout between each tile be it ceramic, vitrified, or double charge tile is highly porous which makes it prone to grease, stains, dirt, and grime. Unclean grout can lead to the growth of mildew and mold. Keeping the tiles and floors clean and disinfected is essential as the spread of the virus is very quick. If you are looking for some easy ways to keep the floor surfaces neat and hygienic, here are some home remedies for cleaning grout lines efficiently.

  2. Homes remedies to clean your floor: Bleach Mixture to Clean Floors: Any person entering your house can track a lot of dirt on their shoes and along with that the virus as well. You can use one cup of bleach in 5 gallons of water to clean the kitchen and bathroom floors. For wooden flooring, you can use a mixture of white vinegar and water. Baking Soda and Vinegar: Baking soda and vinegar are some of the most popular home remedies used to remove tough stains from the tile grout. The process starts with making a paste of baking soda with water and applying it onto the grout lines. Then spray a mixture of vinegar and water on the surface with baking soda paste on it. This will create a chemical reaction between the baking soda and vinegar and bubbles will form on the surface. Once the bubbles stop, scrub the grout with an old brush to remove the build-up and rinse it with warm water. You can also mix baking soda with vinegar and apply that paste onto the grout lines. This will also serve the same purpose. Rinse it with warm water after 30 minutes. Hydrogen peroxide: Hydrogen peroxide is effective against the virus. You can leave it directly on the surfaces. If the tile grout has moderate stains then spray hydrogen peroxide on the grout lines to remove dirt and stains. Then rub it with a brush and rinse it with water. You can also make a paste of hydrogen peroxide with baking soda and apply it to the grout. Then clean it with a brush. Rinse the surface with warm water. For Daily Cleaning: For routine cleaning on ceramic, vitrified or double charged vitrified tile, spray diluted vinegar onto the grout at least once a week. Then rinse it with warm water. You can include sealers on the grout lines for periodic maintenance. This is an effective way to fill the pores and keep them clean. Hot water spray: A warm water spray is the mildest cleaner for tile grout. Spray the hot water spray and scrub the lines with a brush. Make sure the brush has soft bristles. Then wipe it with a dry cloth. Vitrified tile in India are often used outdoors. You can clean them with hot water spray and get rid of all the dirt and bacteria. You can also consider steam cleaners. They are one of the most eco-friendly and effective ways to clean grout lines. Hot steam will flow into the lines and will loosen all the dirt and grease to make the tiled surfaces clean. Having a clean, safe, and germ-free home is the requirement of the hour. With these homemade solutions, you can keep your floors and walls clean and disinfected.
