  23. Places I’d Like toVisit • Pulhapanzak Waterfall • The biggest waterfall in Honduras. The waterfall has an 140 ft. drop from the top. Its popularity is usually attributed not only to its beauty but its accessibility at the base and in a cave behind the fall. • Bay Islands • Host of beautiful beaches and reefs.. I’d love to just tread through the pretty clear blue waters. • ParqueNacional La Tigra • National park brimming with wildlife. • Basílica de Suyapa • The largest church in central america.

  24. Deportes, Musíca, y Danza • The national sport is fútbol. Tennis and golf are other well loved sports in Honduras. • The typical dance of the Honduran people is the punta-- also the chumba and hunguhungu (variations of the punta). You dance with only your feet and your back. Very fast and enjoyable. • The typical music belongs to the punta as well. • Groups like La Bada Blanca, and La TribuLenca Honduran fútbol The punta

  26. Aspectos distintivos • Values • Family values are strong and kids are taught early on that you trust family completely and think twice about others. • Girls expected to be quiet and helpful and boys are given a greater freedom • Celebrations • Easter parade • Somber event like a funeral procession for Jesus.. Streets covered in colored saw dust in the shapes of religious pictures.. All done by volunteers • Birthdays • Usually shared with a meal and piñata • Independence Day falls on 9/15

  27. Tenemosqueir • Hay queir a: • The Bay Islands • Beautiful beaches • Pyramids of Copán • Mayan Ruins • Puerto Cortes • More beautiful beaches

  28. En Todos • Cuandovoy a Honduras… • Being that for every US Dollar is just about 20 Lempira, once the hotel and plane trip is paid for I’d bring an extra thousand dollars because there it would feel like 19,800 dollars. • So in total, I would bring $ 3, 600 for a 15 day vacation. That is quite a bargain for all that Honduras has to offer! Bargain!!!

  29. Interesting Facts • Handshakes are performed by both men and women as an acceptable form of greeting • Many say “Si Dios Quiere” (god willing) when commitments are made whether personal or business to seal the deal • Nicknamed Banana Republic because it grows and exports a lot of bananas • Honduras was originally known as Higüeras, the name of a native plant. • Although Honduras is predominantly Roman-Catholic, many couples do not get married in a church. In fact some prefer to have civil ceremonies or live in common law.
