  2. The Challenge • Lots of interns • StopWaste.org • Chabot Space & Science • Cities • No locally-focused job-seeking forums

  3. The Solution • Workshops focused on various jobs and careers in recycling • NCRA is ideally placed to provide this • Locally focused • Loyal membership • High quality rolodex

  4. The Process • Surveys of potential attendees • Collect data using NCRA networks • Design workshops according to responses • Evaluations

  5. Initial Survey Results • Sectors of interest: Consulting, Government, Environmental Ed, Haulers… • Location of interest: SF, East Bay • Keep it near public transit at night • Have them every 2-3 months

  6. NCRA Jobs Workshops So Far: • Sept. 15th: Consulting at HDR in SF • Nov. 9th: Government at the EPA in SF

  7. Workshops so far: January 4th: Environmental Ed in Oakland March 7th: Haulers at Recology in SF

  8. Workshops so far: May 1st: Conservation Corps in Castro Valley July 11h: Advocacy in Berkeley

  9. New to the Industry Attendees from local colleges/universities Attendees from outside the industry = Recruiting/attracting more talent

  10. Google Group: NCRA Jobs Jobs & development opportunities posted Entry, mid, and upper level jobs Over 110 members

  11. Next Steps • Repeat cycle of workshops • Film and post to the web from now on
