  7. Clarity In Understanding Mormons • God placed Adam and Even in the garden and commanded them not to eat of the tree of knowledge, good and evil. • His true intention was for them to disobey, so they could die and become gods (“exaltation”). • The Fall of Man was a “Fall Up.” • Everyone is born as a spirit child in heaven to Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother before coming to earth.

  8. Clarity In Understanding Mormons • God the Father and Jesus appeared to Joseph Smith in 1820 and told him to restore the true church. • Joseph Smith translated a collection of golden plates into the Book of Mormon (1830). • The LDS church also accepts the Bible, Pearl of Great Price, Doctrine & Covenants, and the President of the Church as sources of inspired revelation.

  9. Clarity In Understanding Mormons • Universal Salvation - Almost everyone is going to one of the three levels of heaven (Celestial, Terrestrial, and Telestial). • Individual Salvation – The level of a person’s exaltation is determined by his faithfulness to the all the teachings of Mormonism.

  10. Clarity In Understanding Mormons • There is no eternal hell, and everyone will get a second chance to accept the Mormon gospel. • The Bible is true as far as it is translated correctly.

  11. Clarity When Sharing the Gospelwith Mormons • Find ways to connect with them repeatedly. • Ask questions and speak truth in love to them. • What is truth? How do we know what is true? • What is Sin? How does God view my sin? • The Work of Christ – Atonement, Justification, etc. • Focus on positively presenting the Gospel. • Share how God has changed your life. • Pray for them by name.

  12. 12 But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel; 13 So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places; 14 And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. -Philippians 1:12-14
