Main Characters(In Order of Appearance) • Nick Marker (Jack Nicholson)- President of large corporation • Cullen Clark (Leo Decaprio)- Man who gets hit by Nick • Ryan Williams (Mark Whalberg)- One of Nick’s friends • Jamal Washington (Jamie Foxx)- Other one of Nick’s friends • Erin Sweeney (Jennifer Lopez)- Joe’s wife

  4. Compelling Synopsis • The president of a large corporation (Nick Marker) is out celebrating with his friends (Jesus Sanchez, Jamal Washington). He is under the influence when he leaves the bar, his friends let him leave (realizing he is drunk). He hits an innocent person (Cullen Clark) on the sidewalk because he is swerving. Cullen Clark happens to be one of Ryan’s old friends. He happens to know that the victims wife and that he has 6 kids that he was provided for. He then leaves the scene of the crime, with the murdered victim alone. The two friends are the only people that know about the hit and run. The friends are threatened by Nick when it comes to “ratting” or standing alone for the truth. It is one of the most difficult decisions of their life.

  7. Thematic Lessons • People constantly deal with the moral dilemma of what to do when your know the truth, remain silent or name names. The answer really depends in certain situations but in the case of this story names must be named and the truth has to be known to all. People need to name names and tell the truth especially when it involves a serious event or situation that could lead to severe consequences and drastic changes in other people's lives. No matter how much power you have, you can never effectively cover up the truth and blame others for your mistake because eventually it just leads to hysteria, and lack of understanding and also can lead to reputations being ruined.
