  2. What caused to weaken the economy in the year 2007-2009?? • Over extended consumer credit • Mortgages • Unemployment

  3. Places that were affected the most by the weak economy?? • Companies Ex. Bear Stearns, AIG, Lehman Brothers, GM and Country Wide

  4. How the weak economy during 2007- 2009 affected the people who was living during that time. -Not as busy at work (Worked in a restaurant) -Special parties went down by 2/3-Had to be creative with making meals Going out to eat cost more -Couldn't afford to live in own place, had to live with familyINTERVIEWED MOM

  5. How did the economy affect people’s lives? • High gas prices • Americans were forced to slow down on sharp spending • Consumer spending on long-lasting manufactured goods fell • Employers pulled back on hiring • Those who have jobs= little gain in income

  6. What broke the cycle and helped make our economy stronger? • The drop in government spending • Interest rates were cut • Employment and earning power • Gradually whittling down debt burdens
