  7. Rob is the killer of Ellie’s sister. He is out to get her and she’s out to get him! Ellie Cavanaugh & Rob Westerfield - • Rob’s Grandmother. Who stays by his side and does everything in her power to clear his name! Mrs. Dorothy Westerfield & Rob Westerfield - Lieutenant Cavanaugh & Ellie - Father & daughter Lieutenant Cavanaugh & Andrea Cavanaugh - • Father & daughter Mrs. Hilmer was always Ellie’s neighbor growing up. Once she came back to investigate Andreas murder and get evidence Mrs. Hilmer was great help! She let Ellie stay in her guest house, until it got mysteriously burnt down. Ellie & Mrs. Hilmer - Pete is Ellie’s lover. She has worked with him as an investigative reporter for quite some time and at the end of the book they move in together and get married Ellie & Pete Laurie - Rob & Andrea - Rob and Andrea were an ‘item.’ They were always being caught driving around town together. Andrea was head over heels for him, but he was 4 years older then her and was a huge player. He is Andreas murderer Paul always had a crush on Andrea growing up, but once he found out she was with Rob he was crushed! Andrea and him always studied together. Once Andrea died is was one of the main suspects because Andrea was suppose to go to an event with him that night, but she bailed on him to hang out with Rob. Andrea & Paul Stroebel - Andrea & Will Nebels - Will Nebels is a old garage handyman. Suspect in Andrea’s murder

  9. Mrs. Hilmer Ellie Cavanaugh Gwyneth Paltrow Betty White For the role of Ellie Cavanaugh in the movie production of this novel I have chosen Gwyneth Paltrow. She is a middle aged woman with the same look as I see Ellie as. (Tall, blond, with icy blue eyes) She has the acting ability to portray a strong independent woman who’s a little bit mysterious. For the role of Mrs. Hilmer I have chosen Betty White. She in my eyes has the same physical look as Mrs. Hilmer is described in the book. She would be an excellent portrayal of a concerned and helpful neighbor. She also could act as the motherly type!

  10. Paul Stroebel Rob Westerfield Adam Baldwin Johnny Galecki I’ve chosen Adam Baldwin for the role of Rob Westerfield, because he has the perfect look for his part. He would have the acting skills to be a villain, because as seen in the TV series ‘Chuck’ he can be obsessive, power hungry, evil person at times. I’ve chosen Johnny Galecki for the role of Paul Stroebel. Paul Stroebel is a lanky, smart and shy boy who loved Andrea. I can see Galecki portraying this role well because he has already played a love struck man in the TV series ‘ The Big Bang Theory’

Descriptive Writing Style : • The sound of crashing metal and glass has been deafening, and the sudden silence that followed was ghostly. • I was wearing one of those godforsaken hospital gowns. It was meant for someone the size of a Barbie doll, whereas I am five feet nine inches tall. • The handsome pink brick buildings looked mellow and tranquil under the November sky. • Andrea had a mask on, a terrible monster mask that looked all sticky and gummy. Ellie reached down to pull it off, and her fingers went into a broken space in Andrea’s forehead. • Feeling more and more alone, she raced up the long driveway and darted around the mansion, a small figure lost in the lengthening shadows of the approaching storm. • The long driveway through the campus was lined with mature trees that in season must form a lush canopy of leaves.

  13. Plot : • Daddy’s Little Girl is all about the death of Andrea Cavanaugh and who actually killed her. The Narrator of this story is Ellie Cavanaugh, who at the time of Andreas Death was only 7 years old. Ellie was the one who found Andrea in her friends secret hideout dead on the garage floor. She is also the star witness for trial. At the time when Ellie found Andrea she swore she heard a boy heavily breathing/laughing over her in the darkness. At trial Ellie characterized this person to be Rob Westerfield, the rich guy/ Andrea’s ‘dream guy.’ Rob was convicted and went to prison for the murder of Andrea. 23 years later and Rob is up for parole. Ellie knows he’s guilty but all of the sudden there's evidence coming in portraying his innocence. Ellie isn’t going to let him have want he wants, so she starts investigating Andreas death! • If Rob Westerfield would have just claimed that he was guilty like he really was, none of the horrible and scary events that happen to Ellie throughout the story would have ever happened. She would be living her normal life, with the insurance that the horrible man that killed her sister Andrea was locked away.

  14. Conflict: • One of the big conflicts in the story is how Ellie and her father no longer talk. Ever since she was 9 and her parents got a divorce, Ellie had went with her mother instead of her father. Her father tried to keep in touch but Ellie felt he was more interested in his new family then her, so she quit talking to him completely. • This conflict was solved when Ellie went back to her home town. Her father came to her and tried to make a relationship. She didn’t believe he was faithful until the night Rob Westerfield tried to kill her and he came to the rescue and saved her life. She realized he did really love her and she was still “daddy’s little girl” Theme: The name of this novel is Daddy’s Little Girl, this title is appropriate for the book because it’s based on both girls Andrea and Ellie. Ellie always believed that Andrea was her dads favorite and when she was murdered Ellie saw her dad fall apart. She believed that she should have been the one who died and maybe her father would still have his little girl. But he proved her wrong 23 years later & Ellie now knows they'd both be Daddy’s Little Girl forever !
