  3. Traditional Breakfast • Miso Soup • Rice (Gohan) • Dried Seaweed (Nori) • Pickles • Green tea Many Japanese families eat breakfast foods that you eat like bacon and eggs.

  4. Traditional Lunch • School Kids Usually Carry a Bento-Lunchbox • Usually Simple • Noodles (udon or soba) • Rice • Pickled or cooked vegatables A really nice bento.

Traditional Dinner • Also known as “Kaiseki” • Multi-course dinner • shiizakana" (appetizers served with Japanese sake)"mukouzuke" (sashimi - slices of raw fish)"kuchitori" (a small side dish)"suimono" (a soup)"nimono" (simmered vegetables)"aemono" (food dressed with sauce)"kounomono" (Japanese pickles)"hassun" (food from the mountains and the sea)"sunomono" (food marinated in  vinegar)"yakimono" (grilled fish)"mushimono" (steamed food) "nabemono" (Japanese hot pot)rice miso soupdessert One kaiseki dinner can consist of anywhere from 6 to 15 different kinds of food!

What’s for Dessert?! • Daifuku!! • A Japanese confection consisting of a small round mochi (glutinous rice cake) stuffed with sweet filling, most commonly anko, sweetened red bean paste made from azuki beans. Daifuku comes in many varieties. The most common is white, pale green or pale pink colored mochi filled with anko. Of Course there are many more desserts!! Looks yummy!

  7. How to eat all the delicious food!? • Chopsticks! • They come in all shapes and forms, from golden chopsticks engraved with calligraphy to disposable bamboo wari-bashi. • the first chopsticks were developed over 5000 years ago NO knives or forks, chopsticks are the utensil of choice

  8. Japanese Vending Machines • Japan has become infamous for its vending machines. Pictures of ever stranger items being sold, such as batteries, eggs, or even underwear! At 7.76 million, Japan is the number one vending machine society in terms of machines per person!! They look so cool!!
