  2. What Not to Wear for Males • Graphic ties. Conservative ties with abstract designs or no designs at all work best. Keep it simple. • Jewelry. No studs, earrings, bracelets, or rings with the exception of a wedding ring. Metal watches are also acceptable. • Short sleeved shirts. Don’t do it to yourself.

  4. What to Wear for Males • A dark suit. Black, dark blue, grey, and muted pin-stripes work best. • A light shirt. White, pale blue, or yellow are suggested. • Clean dress shoes. Make sure they’re shined.

  5. Business Casual for Males • Collared shirts, sweaters, and polo shirts are acceptable. A casual sport coat may also be worn. • Khakis, corduroys, and chinos are advised. • Oxfords, loafers, leather shoes, and boots may be worn.

  6. What Not to Wear for Females • Too short skirts. When seated, your skirt should cover your thighs. • Heavy makeup. • Fishnets. Neutral patterned hosiery or bare legs is advised. • Stilettos. Pumps or medium heels are appropriate.

  7. If you aren’t interviewing to be a clown, go easy on the makeup.

  8. What to Wear for Females • Pantsuit or blazer with a skirt or dress. Colors such as navy, black, or grey are ideal. • Blouse. White or any other soft color will work. • Stockings. They must match your skin tone. • Purse. The smaller the better and should match shoes.

  9. Business Casual for Females • A blouse or knit shirt works. If sleeveless, a blazer or cardigan may also be worn. • Khakis, skirts, and dresses are acceptable. • Leather shoes are advised.

  10. Extra Tips • Perfume, cologne, and aftershave should be used sparingly. Your interviewer should not smell you coming. • Nails should be well groomed. No dirt should be seen under the nails. • Employers appreciate personal style. However, style should never come before company dress code.
