  1. DE INDIAN PUBLIC SCHOOL GIVE WINGS TO YOUR DREAMS “Euphoria” An Inter School Fest FRIDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2011 “You can teach a student for a day, but if you enhance his curiosity then the learning process will continue all his life.”

DE INDIAN PUBLIC SCHOOLGIVE WINGS TO YOUR DREAMS • GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS • All the participants along with the teachers should report to the school by 8:30 am. • The participants will be allotted a Registration Number as their identity for the competitions. • The schools must confirm their participation through mail or telephonically by Friday, October7, 2011. The Confirmation Form dully filled must reach by post or mail latest by Thursday, October 13, 2011. • All the events will start simultaneously at 9:00 am in the allotted venues. • The participants will come in their requisite costumes. • A child can participate only in one event. • A maximum number of three teachers can accompany their students who will be required to sit in the school Auditorium. • I & II positions will be awarded to the winners. • Participation certificate will be given to all the participants. • Refreshment will be provided to all the participants. • The rules specified for the particular event (s) should be strictly adhered to. • Heavy and space occupying props should be avoided. • Registration will be accepted during Autumn Break also. • All CDs should be properly labeled and cued. • Decision of the judges will be final and binding.  • NOTE: • The host school will present a non competitive entry. • The Closing Ceremony will be held in the school Auditorium after the completion of all • the events and compilation of results at 12.30 pm. • The Rolling Trophy will be awarded to the school which secures highest marks overall. • The Trophy will stay with the winning school for a year which must be returned to • the host school before the next “Euphoria”- An Inter School Fest in 2012.

  3. DE INDIAN PUBLIC SCHOOLGIVE WINGS TO YOUR DREAMS • Jingling Toddlers • (Rhyme Recitation) • Rhymes are portable playthings. Children can recite them at any time • or at any place. They need no toy , equipment or even a book to set • a scene. A rhyme for young children is a complete short experience which fits their limited attention span. • Objectives: • To help children to explore the mechanics of a language. • To help children to learn the melodic use of the voice. • To give stage exposure to little children and build their confidence . • To make them expressive. • Rules: • Recitation can be either in Hindi or English. • Participants have to be in the requisite costumes. • Maximum 3 entries from each school can be entertained. • The competition will be held in a normal size classroom. Therefore, props should • be prepared accordingly. • Judgement will be done on the basis of content, actions, confidence and • overall presentation.

DE INDIAN PUBLIC SCHOOLGIVE WINGS TO YOUR DREAMS • An Eternal Bond • (A Mother and Child Ramp Walk) • The significant importance of religion is the potential to promote integrity and righteousness. Religion is food for the soul. From times immemorial, religion has been a witness to the eternal bond of love between mother and a child. Be it humans, be it God, a mother is always a mother for a child. • Objectives: • 1) To showcase the eternal bond between a mother and a child. • 2) To make our children aware of the diverse religions prevalent all over the • world. • Rules: • It is a participation of a mother and a child, where they can dress up as different • characters from the diverse religions prevalent in the world, for example, • Yashodha with Krishna, Jesus Christ with Mother Marry etc. • Background music can be played. Kindly label the CD, Music System will be • provided by the host school. • Pen drives and MP3 are not allowed. • Participants have to be in the requisite costumes. • Judgement will be done on the basis of costume, walk, confidence and • overall presentation.

  5. DE INDIAN PUBLIC SCHOOLGIVE WINGS TO YOUR DREAMS • Tribal Ecstasy • (Tribal Dance) • A dance is performed to express the innermost feelings. Folk and Tribal dances are performed on every possible occasion, to celebrate the arrival of seasons, birth of a child, a wedding or a festival. Each form of dance has a specific costume . Most costumes are flamboyant with extensive jewellery. • Objectives: • To make children aware of the tribal diversities prevalent in the world. • 2) To build confidence in them and to make them expressive. • 3) To give stage exposure to the little children. • Rules: • A group of 5 participants will perform a tribal dance. • Participants have to be in the requisite costumes. • Participants are requested to bring the music in the audio CDs only duly • labeled and cued. Music System will be provided by the host school. • Judgement will be done on the basis of co ordination, expressions, props, costumes • and overall presentation.

  6. DE INDIAN PUBLIC SCHOOLGIVE WINGS TO YOUR DREAMS • Aesthetic World • ( A composition with Origami ) • Origami, the art of paper folding occupies a very important place in education. It is a motor activity in the form of skilled movement which is vital to the intuitive thoughts and the mental representation of the brain. • Objectives: • To develop artistic creativity of the children by means of paper folding and creating a scene. • To develop sequencing in children through learning different steps to fold a paper. • To develop special relationship by transforming a flat piece of paper into a three dimensional object. • Rules: • A team of two students will prepare a composition consisting of 3 paper foldings. • Participants are required to carry all the material i.e. origami sheets, fevicol, scissors, colours etc. • Participants have to draw one scene, colour it and put things made by paper folding. • Any medium of colouring can be used. • A3 size sheet will be provided by the host school. • Judgement will be done on the basis of creativity, neatness and presentation.

  7. DE INDIAN PUBLIC SCHOOLGIVE WINGS TO YOUR DREAMS • Drama Beans • (Story enactment from Panchatantra) • Panchatantra was written around 200 B.C. by a sage called Vishnu Sharma. Through the jungle of the speaking animals, he created a storehouse of wisdom in the form of short stories for children. The best part about these tales are the important morals they have at the end that are essential to live a content life. • Objectives: • To enhance the theatrical skills of the children. • To help the children to be expressive. • To learn the importance of moral values in life. • Rules: • A group of 4 participants will enact a story. • Dialogues can be either in Hindi or English. • Recorded background music can be played. • Recorded dialogues will not be entertained. • Judgement will be done on the basis of costume, dialogue delivery, presentation and the message it conveys.

DE INDIAN PUBLIC SCHOOLGIVE WINGS TO YOUR DREAMS • Kaun Banega Amitabh Bachchan? • The name Amitabh Bachchan needs no introduction. • The trademark of deep baritone voice, the tall brooding persona, intense eyes, the superstar of the millennium is a living legend. • Objectives: • To salute the living legend of the millennium. • To enhance the theatrical abilities of the children . • Rules • It can be a dialogue, mimicry, enactment of a scene or dance moves. • Recorded background music can be played. • Music System will be provided by the host school. • Props are optional. • Recorded dialogues will not be entertained. • Judgement will be done on the basis of costume, presentation and dialogue delivery/dance steps.

DE INDIAN PUBLIC SCHOOLGIVE WINGS TO YOUR DREAMS • Finesse • (Classical Dance) • Indian Classical Dance and Music is an art not only about the quintessence of sweetness, beauty and power of our eternal culture, but it is also a prayer and meditation, attracting divine blessings, happiness and peace of mind. • Objectives: • To make children aware of the different classical dance forms present in India. • To make them aware of the root of all the dances. • To embody finesse in them. • To make them disciplined. • Rules: • Participants are free to choose any song and music (non filmy). • Dance to be presented with only pre-recorded audio CD. • Music system will be provided by the school. • Participants are required to come in their costumes with requisite make-up. • Backdrops/props are optional. • Judgement will be done on the basis of expressions, rhythm, steps, costume and overall presentation.

DE INDIAN PUBLIC SCHOOLGIVE WINGS TO YOUR DREAMS • Reaching D Summit • (A collection of fun filled adventure activities) • Adventure sports give a totally new thrilling experience and a view point to lead life with new enthusiasm and courage. Sports like these help in tackling difficulties in real life situations. Sometimes they even help to save an innocent life that is in danger. • Objectives: • To make children conquer their fears and excel in their lives. • To prepare them to overcome difficulties in real life situations. • Rules: • A team of four children will do the relay consisting of adventure activities such as • hurdle race, commando crawl, dribbling with basket ball and wall climbing. • Judgement will be done on the basis of time taken, team work and completion of • the task.

Thanks to Bill Gates and his team of professionals who developed MS PowerPoint. Today most of us have access to what is considered a basic and most staple tool to effective presentations. No matter if you are a student or a professor or a business professional or even a scientist, if you are out there in this world, you need PowerPoint skills to be successful. • Objectives: • To make children tech savvy. • To enhance their creativity through a powerful medium of power point • presentations. • 3) To produce high quality presentation easily and quickly. • Rules: • A team of two students will be required to prepare a power point presentation. • On the spot clipart and pictures will be given to the children with which they will have to create a presentation of 8 to 10 slides on the topic Natural Disasters. • Computer will be provided by the host school. • Judgement will be done on the basis of creativity, tools used, language and overall • presentation. • Pen drives are not allowed. • .

The French language is derived from the vernacular Latin spoken by the Romans in Gaul, although it includes many Celtic and Germanic words. Historically, French has been used as the international language of diplomacy and commerce. Today it remains one of the six official languages at the United Nations and has been a unifying factor in Africa, Asia, the Pacific, and the Caribbean. • Objectives: • 1) Language is the medium of expression and it is believed an additional asset is always a boon, thus it is to give our children exposure of a foreign language. • 2) To enhance children’s knowledge about the culture, historical places, costumes, food specialties of France. • Rules: • It will be a team participation comprising of two students. • The students should be aware of the language as per the syllabus up to class VI. • The quiz will consist of three rounds namely cultural, visual, and written. • Judgement will be done on the basis of all the rounds.
