The Discovery Learning Center's internship initiative has made a significant impact, engaging 331 Purdue students across 115 Indiana companies. With 142,000 hours of internship experience, this groundbreaking program features a new funding model supported by local companies, state agencies, and private donors. Since its pilot in summer 2007, six students have launched their own businesses, while over 37 have secured full-time positions with their internship employers. Notably, 80% of participants felt their interest in start-ups increased, with a remarkable 72% of graduates taking jobs in Indiana.
