    2. Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress. And let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us. Heb. 12:1

    3. TO RUN YOUR RACE IN 2007... Stripping off the Weights that Slow Us Down!

    4. Weight # 1 YOU MUST LET GO OF YOUR __________ Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up... Pr. 12:25

    5. Let go of your concerns. Then you will know that I am God. I rule the earth. Ps. 46:10

    6. First, WORRY ___________ your energy! I am worn out by my worries. Ps. 55:2b

    7. Second, WORRY _______________ the problem! My awful worries keep growing. Ps. 25:17

    8. Third, WORRY _________ your time! Will your worries add a single moment to your life? Mt. 6:27

    9. WHAT DO YOU DO WITH WORRIES? Give your worries to the Lord, and He will take care of you. Ps. 55:22

    10. HOW? _______!

    11. Dont worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 If you do this, you will experience Gods peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus Phil. 4:6-7

    12. WEIGHT # 2 YOU MUST LET GO OF YOUR __________! My heart is wounded within me. Ps. 109:22b

    13. Stop your anger! Turn from your rage! Do not envy others it only leads to harm. Ps. 37:8

    14. You may tear your hair out in anger, but will that cause the earth to be abandoned? Will it make rocks fall from a cliff?. Job 18:4

    15. HOW? _______________

    16. Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of malicious behavior. 32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Eph. 4:31-32

    17. He heals the brokenhearted, binding up their wounds. Ps. 147:3

    18. Weight #3 YOU MUST LET GO OF YOUR ___________! Your sins. Your mistakes. Your regrets. Your failures.

    19. Why?

    20. First, guilt _______________ you from God Your wrongs have separated you from your God, and your sins have made Him hide His face so that He doesn't hear you. Isa. 59:2 (GW)

    21. Second, it _____________ you. When I refused to confess my sin, I was weak and miserable, and I groaned all day long. Ps. 32:3

    22. Third, It ____________ your mind! For I recognize my shameful deedsthey haunt me day and night. Ps. 51:3

    23. HOW? _____________ But if we confess our sins TO HIM, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong.. 1 John 1:9

    24. Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin. Ps 51:1-2
