Kids who have been read to by parents generally do the same once they have mastered basic reading.  3. Boosts creativity and imagination - It is know that children have a vivid imagination. Reading books allows them to create a world of their own and add their own elements and storylines to it. This innovation and imagination makes them open to new ideas and leads to creativity.

If they can write well, their overall academic performance is sure to increase.  5. Increased concentration – Kids who read have a longer attention span and higher retention power. Reading also boosts memory and this helps retain more and more information leading to general academic success.  6.
