The Origins and Design Elements of the BMW Logo

The iconic BMW logo was designed by Dr. Florian Triebel in 1916 and registered in 1917. It represents Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft, or Bavarian Motor Works, a renowned German company. The logo effectively features a simple circular shape adorned with vibrant colors, symbolizing a propeller of an airplane. This design contributes to its instant recognition and appeal. Similar to my own logos, the BMW logo is colorful and captivating, yet mine incorporates more intricate details. The elegant simplicity of the BMW logo remains a hallmark in branding.

  2. Who created the logo design? Where was the artist form? Dr. FlorianTriebel created the BMW logo design and is from Germany.

  3. What company was the logo created for? The logo was created for the company BayerischeMotorenWerkeAktiengesellschaft, in English it was Bavarian Motor Works which was abbreviated as BMW.

  4. In what year was it created? The logo for BMW was created in 1916, but was registered only in 1917.

  5. One interesting fact! • The BMW logo is supposed to represent a propeller of a aero plane

  6. Describe what makes the logo effective? • It has many different colors, and it only states the name of the company nothing else, and the shape is really simple (circle).

  7. Compare the logo Design to your own logo designs. What is similar? What is different? Something that is the same about the BMW logo and my logos is that it has more than 2 colors it is colorful and attractive. But something that is different is that mine has more detail than the BMW’s
