  1. Get Ready For The Winter! Presentation of some essential equipment for your vehicle in winter. Winter Tires: It is almost essential equipment for the whole winter season, even if it has yet to be compulsory on Canadian territory. Winter (or snow) tires ensure impeccable handling on wet, icy, frosty or snow-covered roads. This type of tire will perform well below 7°C thanks to its specific composition: a mixture of different rubbers. Snow Chains and Socks The eternal dilemma between socks and snow chains. In any case, additional equipment (in addition to winter tyres) should not be overlooked! First option: The snow sock is easy! Clean and efficient assembly. Just remember only to install them if the road is snowy. Socks don't like bitumen, so watch out for premature wear! The socks are compatible with electronic aids such as ABS or ESP. Compared to chains, socks allow you to drive up to 70 km/h. They remain effective and ideal for occasional or emergency use. The chains will allow you to travel on snowy roads, but be careful with a speed limit of 30 km/h. Second option: The snow chain can save you a lot of trouble on snowy roads. It is essential for your safety. Note that the assembly will be more complicated than snow socks. Snow chains remain one of the best pieces of equipment for winter to get through snow and ice! It is an economical choice for regular use. However, we advise you to carry out assembly tests in the dry with the chains before hitting the road. Your choice will therefore depend on the climatic conditions of your region. Antifreeze We advise you to check that your coolant is true "antifreeze" (minimum - 20°C). Properly control its level. Also significant: is the presence of sufficient antifreeze windscreen washer fluid. Drums

  2. Check the level of your battery and fill it with demineralized water if necessary. Clean the (+) and (-) poles of the battery and apply a little grease in very cold weather. Fuel In case of extreme cold, keep your fuel tank full or three-quarters (at least) to avoid freezing. It is mainly diesel vehicles that suffer from the cold because diesel fuel is more sensitive to low temperatures.
