  1. Reptilerefugee Staale A. Botterli www.crawlingcreatures.com

  2. My story Picked up my interest for reptiles in 1985. Purchased my first reticulated python illegally in 1995. Moved to Sweden in 2005, where I currently live with my human and reptilian family. I currently hold approximately xx specimens of xx different species in my terrariums. Recently I have started to breed my snakes and I am selling through my somewhat premature website www.crawlingcreatures.com. I am proud to be a part of a healthy and legal reptile community in Sweden.

  3. The Norwegian process • 1977 – Ban on keeping reptiles and amphibians in Norway imposed • 1996 – The Norwegian Herpetologist Society (NHS) established • 2001 – First NHS “Positive list” suggested • 2008 – Revised “Positive list” submitted • 2012 – Ministry of Agriculture and Food propose a government hearing • 2013 – Hearing cancelled by Minister of Agriculture and Food • 2013 – Norwegian parliamentary elections • Today - New government elected with a promise to revisit the issue.

  4. Species criteria(From the «positive list») • Theywouldonly be available from healthy, established trade channels in Europe • Theywould not be an endangered species, or captured in thewild • Theywould not be able to survive in Norway’secosystem and climate • Theywould not pose a risk to theowner – novenom, and manageablesize.
