Normative Ethics Theories • Individual Consequentialist • also called egoist ethic • individual is the beneficiary • objective is to maximize good for the individual • Good is defined as happiness, well-being, fame, riches, etc. MIS331
Normative Ethics Theories • Group Consequentialist • beneficiary is the social group, organization, or nation • objective is to maximize good for the group • Good is defined as survival, autonomy, ascendancy, etc. MIS331
