This paper presents a model of integrating self-access language learning within the curriculum at Otemon Gakuin University in Japan. With a focus on community building, social interaction, and cultural exchange, this alternative approach enhances student autonomy while addressing future challenges in language education. The model includes targeted advising services for students participating in exchange programs and classes for study abroad preparation. The E-CO Self-Access Centre serves as a hub for these activities, promoting English usage and maximizing connections between students and academic departments.
