  1. Story of trolls Deep lakes and steep woodlands were the house of the NOKKEN (the elf of the water). On the tip of the rocks rising from the water, or under the waterfalls you could find the FOSSEGRIMEN, the skilled player of the special TROLL violin, who has become the teacher of several Norwegian violonists.

  2. HAUGTUSSER and IUFTEKALLER (elves and fairies) lived on the hills and under the bushes. Other fairies preferred to live closer to human beings, and at night used to stay in the barns and in the cattlesheds. They were called NISSE and they wore a long, red and slouch hat.The numberless mountains were the house of the TROLLS, whose leader - the strongest of all - was the DOVREGRUBBEN (the King of the Dovre mountain).

  3. Some TROLLS were giants - plants and moss used to grow on their heads and noses - other TROLLS were very small. You could see two-head and three-head TROLLS, some of them had just one eye, right in the middle of their front. All of them could live hundreds of years. You could meet them at night, because they couldn't stand the light of the sun.

  4. Even nowadays it's a good rule to be well-disposed towards the TROLLS, since you never know when you may bump into one. Remember this the next time you get into a dark forest, or you walk up impressive mountains with their lakes and waterfalls, wrapped up by fog. They probably don't have evil intentions, but beware: at twilight you won't be alone anymore. There will be you ... and the TROLLS.

  5. TROLLS do care about the environment. Take care of nature, wherever you go and whatever you do, always try to protect it: it is the place where TROLLS live. In return, they will show all their gratitude. Be kind to them: then, they will stay close to you for a long time and will bring you good luck
