Our approach to crisis communications mirrors our response to various hazards. The Communication Plan is integrated within the State Emergency Coordination Plan and involves the Public Information Officers (PIO) Network. This network connects PIOs from state agencies, the National Guard, and local governance to ensure streamlined information flow, provide resources, and convey unified messages on behalf of the Governor. During major events, we activate emergency protocols, utilize ICS tools, and prepare resources in advance for effective communication and coordination in various scenarios like anthrax outbreaks and natural disasters.
