Mother Jones Lyrics by Lila Downs Tell me tell me, Mother JonesTuesday comes and Tuesday goesTell me where the spirit goes?goes...The tender, the warmer ? the dealers' father timeI'm lookin' down in limbo and I see Joan of ArcSurrender to the porno and listen to the criesMy people they ain't votin' see the pepsi man waltzA victim of her freedom and that is what they sayI'm lookin in the mirror but it really isn't meThe diamonds on the monkeys the ladies in the treesI'm lookin to the future I'm dancin' to the beatTell me tell me, Mother JonesTell me where the spirit goes?Waiting for the risin' sunTuesday comes and Tuesday goes The flowers in the valley are blowin' in the windThey come in many colors but she prefers the greenShe's running to the north pole with a packet in her seamShe's got to find the money smilin' at the deputyI want you to find me the day that I'm not thereI'd like you to listen to the things that I've felt (listen to me, listen to me)I want you to sit here and hold me when I'm downI'm lookin' to remember see the pepsi man waltz Tell me tell me, Mother JonesTell me where the spirit goes?Waiting for the risin' sunTuesday comes and Tuesday goes
