  1. Agenda Item: 4.cADA Organisational Planning by: Mark Harris NASA/SCNS Tel.: +1-757-824-2192 Mail: Mark.A.Harris@nasa.gov

  2. ADA Organisational Planning • USAP (National Science Foundation) • Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) • Reduced “Winfly” season and cargo capability due to limited flights. • JPSS UPS installation occurred in February 2013, no impact to MG1 as they are on separate circuits. • JPSS MMCS • Continue working with JPSS MMCS personnel in an attempt to avoid Metop support impacts during planned communication outages.

  3. ADA Organisational Planning • SCNS Contract - McMurdo Ground Station • Crew change scheduled for early October 2013. Two crew members enter and two depart with one week overlap for station turnover. • MG1 Timing System Upgrade; postponed until the austral summer 2013/2014. • Upgrade NASA Secure IONet communication switches; target early August 2013 • No further system upgrades or downtimes are planned for 2013.

  4. Mission Set • Routine On-Orbit Mission Set – Prime • EUMETSAT - Metop-B transitioned to prime on 24-Apr-2013, continue our best effort to provide up to 14 MG1 supports daily. • Routine On-Orbit Mission Set – Secondary • Seven missions. • Contingency/”As Needed” Mission Set • Four Missions.

  5. Future Missions • Upcoming Launch and Early Orbit Supports • Mission A – 26 Jun 2013. Launch and early orbit S-Band support only. • L to L+7 days 10 – 14 supports across 4 stations. Proficiency supports thereafter. • Mission B – TBD 2015. S & X-band • LEOP Launch (L) to L+3 days; maximum possible passes per orbit at > 4 min 5 deg horizon for S-band Forward/Return (FWD/RTN). • Commissioning - L+73 hours to L+90 days; One S-band pass per MG1 orbit for subsystem activation. • Nominal Operations to downlink X-band data; level support to be determined

  6. Radome Replacement • Summer 2013 Ship radome to Port Hueneme • January 2014                   Work minus one year site visit • January 2015                  Replace MG1 radome • To reduce the risk of having the radome open during a wind event, the refresh approach is to replace the panels one at a time. • NASA is planning to replace the radome during an approximate 30 day period beginning in January 2015. • Please note - the installation is not under contract at this time and so the work performance period may have to be re-assessed following a procurement of these services. NASA will provide as much advanced notice of this service interruption as possible
