  4. Career and Technical Programs: • Provide creative and exciting ways for students to succeed, not only in high school, but also in college and careers.

  5. Career Exploration • Career Education programs provide intensive career exploration and give students basic knowledge of a particular career pathway.

  6. Post High School Options • Programs are like focused electives on a student’s transcript to strengthen his/her college preparatory curriculum.

  7. Biotechnology The curriculum prepares students in the area of laboratory safety and maintenance, instrument analysis, chemical materials handling and sampling, physical properties measurement, biohazard storage, handling and disposal, basic microbiology, molecular biology, human biology, cell culturing and basic computer applications for biotechnology. • Requirements: • 2.25 GPA+, 2 Sciences • Credits earned: • JR year: 3 Total • SR year: 3 Total (1 Human Biology)

  11. Centerville Business Academy • CHS BUSINESS ACADEMY is a two-year program for anyone interested in pursuing a business career. Students study business with respect to the American and global environments, entrepreneurship, management, marketing, finance, and information technology. • The Senior year of the Business Academy provides student experiences to learn various aspects of business. • Creative Ties - Students will gain practical experience in management and entrepreneurship by organizing and operating a classroom corporation, Creative Ties. • Credit Union - Students will gain practical experience in finance and banking by organizing and operating the Centerville High School Credit Union in partnership with DayAir Credit Union. • School-Work - Students can choose to gain practical experience through an on-the-job application of business skills through School-to-Work placement. • College Courses - Senior Business Academy students will complete the International Business, Customer Service, and Microsoft Access courses for a potential of 9 college credits on their college transcript

  12. Communication Arts/Broadcast Management • WCWT-FM – 107.3 is Centerville High School’s Radio Station. • Students broadcast live radio shows • WCWT broadcasts athletic events throughout the year

Culinary Arts & Restaurant Management Elk Café – student run café in which students design a menu, prepare the food, and serve the meal to CHS staff Catering – students cater events at CHS and off campus Students can earn national certification in Pro Start, ServSafe, and internship opportunities

Information Technology & Software Engineering • Students can earn up to 6 college credits • Requirement: C or better in math • Credits earned: • JR year: 3 Total • SR year: 3 Total • Curriculum will cover Java, Visual Basic.NET, C++, Cisco, computer hardware and software, Web Design/Multimedia, and JavaScript. • Students will complete in BPA (Business Professionals of America), CHS Tech Prep Showcase, Miami Valley Tech Prep Showcase, and Ohio IT Challenge.
