  7. Boots & Coots Involvement in the Iraqi ConflictBackground • During 1991 Gulf War - B&C was one of the lead Firefighting Companies. Others Red Adair & Wild Well Control. • After retirement of Coots, Boots & Red => The 1997 merger of B&C with Red Adair’s employees

  8. Boots & Coots Involvement in the RIO ProjectBackground • There are over 2,000 oil wells in Iraq. • 1991 Gulf War – Hussein sabotaged 849 wells. Of those, 732 required blowout intervention.

  9. Boots & Coots Involvement in the RIO ProjectPlanning Assignment: Position equipment & personnel to respond to sabotage well fires and be there to help restore production. Developed a scenario for oil well sabotage • Best Case ~40 wells on fire • Worst Case ~1,414 wells on fire • Most Probable Case ~464 wells on fire

Boots & Coots Involvement in the RIO ProjectPreparation • Finalized blowout contingency plan October 2002, signed contracts. • Mobilized to Kuwait City in January and February 2003. • Helped train 12 military teams charged with securing oilfield infrastructure in the South. • Procured and expedited equipment.
