This project investigates how different types of string and varying lengths affect the efficiency of tin can and paper cup telephones. The hypothesis posits that shorter strings will transmit sound more efficiently. We conducted experiments using 8 paper cups and 8 tin cans, evaluating the sound quality based on string characteristics. Through a series of tests and observations, we found that the type and length of string significantly influence sound transmission. Our findings lead to a greater understanding of how these variables impact communication devices.

Question • Does the different types of string or string lengths affect the efficiency of a tin can or paper cup telephone.
Hypotheses • The types of string or string lengths affect the effienicency of a paper cup because the shorter length, the shorter time will travel.
materials • 8 paper cups • 8 tin cans • Thread • awl
procedures • Get 8 tin can and 8 paper cups • Cut the string • Get the awl • Punch holes in the bottom of the paper cups and tin cans • Tie knots at the bottom of the string • Test your hypothesis
Variables • Independent: sound, strong, string lengths • Dependent: volume • Controlled: cups, holes
conclusion My conclusion was right because when I tried it my thought was right.
Question? • My question was that when I tried to do the tin can how come it didn’t work but it has an echo in the tin can.
