Mechanical seals are components that are used to seal equipment (rotating ones) to ensure that the liquid inside the equipment does not leak out. • In rotating equipment, there is always a danger of the content flowing out between the rotating shaft and housing case. • The mechanical seal, which contains a spring, rotary seal face and stationary seal face, prevents the liquid of any kind, be it water, steam, oil, etc. to come out of the machine, thus ensuring its smooth functioning. • Mechanical seal is used in a variety of industries. Temperature limits: • There are some temperature limitations that you must adhere to while selecting the appropriate mechanical seal. • For instance, seals made of ethylene propylene rubber would not be able to prevent leakage of fluids above 150 degrees Celsius. • Moreover, it may also spoil or damage the seal.
