  1. Social security disability (SSDI/SSD) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) claims are usually denied at the initial claim and reconsideration levels. This as a common phenomenon happens to majority of claimants irrespective of whether or not the concerned claimant is represented by the social security disability lawyer or non-attorney disability advocate. It is observed that most of the SSD and SSI claims go to a hearing in front of an administrative law judge or ALJ before a claimant hopes to receive the disability benefits. The fact is that most of the claimants seeking for SSDI and SSI benefits have no idea about how to prepare a disability case in a proper and thorough manner for a hearing. A social security disability lawyer comes to the rescue of the claimant where or when the case is facing the ALJ hearing and the claimant can hope to receive the disability benefits to some extent. However, a disability lawyer or non-attorney representative cannot give a full assurance that the concerned claimant will be awarded the Social Security Disability or SSI benefits but a social security disability lawyer can guarantee that the concerned case will be properly “developed” prior to a hearing date. 2. Developing and preparing a perfect disability case requires on the part of the social security disability lawyer a high level of familiarity, maturity and expertise with the Social Security rules and regulations. Majority of social security disability lawyers have several years of invaluable SSDI and SSI claims experience to lend to a claimant’s disability case. The social security lawyer through his/her work experiences would be able to know what a judge is looking for with a particular medical condition and will be in a position to ask about various questions or inquire about the health condition of the claimant from the physician. Hiring a social security disability lawyer ensures that the SSDI or SSI claims have the best chances of winning and these disability lawyers are not required to be paid instantly. The social security disability lawyers are paid on contingency basis (that is only when the claimant wins the case). This result in the social security lawyer to fight the case in full gear and their activities include tracking down important medical records and test results, obtaining detailed statement from a claimant’s treating physicians and at the time of the hearing, applying a thorough understanding of SSA regulations, and prior rulings to the disability adjudication process.
