  2. Goal Writing • After compiling data, the next step in the CIP plan is to set goals (both academic and cultural) that will guide how we structure our school’s resources to reach our next benchmark.

  3. What do we use as a measure for setting our goals? • In order to write goals for the upcoming year, we need to look at the AMO (Annual Measurable Objective Chart) • The Annual Measurable Objective chart tells you where to set your targets when writing your goals in reading and math. 2012 is already highlighted.

  4. When writing goals, remember this • Goals should be SMART: • S – Specific • M – Measurable • A – Attainable • R – Relevant • T – Time Bound

  5. Goal: Increase the percent of 11th grade students scoring proficient (Level III and IV) in Math on the AHSGE from ___% to ___% during the 2011 – 2012 school year.

  6. Sample Goal Sheet • Review the following slides. The shaded yellow boxes explain what information should be included in each section when writing goals for the CIP plan.
