  2. Everyone has their own role in protecting their Sensitive Information and securing their systems or devices. A basic awareness can help individuals to enhance their security without any requirement of huge investment or any security professional expert.

  4. Make a Long & Unique Passphrase • Try to use strong and complex passphrases. • A strength passphrase is a sentence that is at least 12 characters long. • Positive sentences or phrases are more likely to be secure. www.sattrix.com

Keep a Clean Machine • Keep all software on internet connected devices – including personal computers, smartphones and tablets – current to reduce risk of infection from ransomware and malware. • Keep all the devices configured to automatic update or to notify you on regular available updates. www.sattrix.com

  6. When in Doubt, Throw it Out • The easiest way for cyber criminals to steal your information is phishy links in email, tweets, texts, posts, social media messages etc. • Be aware of clicking links or downloading anything from an unknown sources. www.sattrix.com

Back it Up • Protect your data by making an electronic copy and storing it safely. • If device falls victim to ransomware or other cyber threats and you have a copy of your data then you will be able to restore the data from a backup. • Use the 3-2- 1 rule as a guide to backing up your data: Keep at least three (3) copies of your data, and store two (2) backup copies on different storage media, with one (1) of them located offsite. www.sattrix.com

Own your Online Presence • Every time you sign up for a new account, download a new app, or get a new device, immediately configure the privacy and security settings to your comfort level for information sharing. • Regularly check these settings to make sure they are still configured to your comfort. www.sattrix.com

Share with Care • Always take care while posting anything about yourself or others online. • Rethink about what a post is revealing, who all can see your posts, or who can get affected by your post. • Consider creating an alternate persona that you use for online profiles to limit the personal information you share. www.sattrix.com

Get Savvy about WI-FI Hotspots • Public wireless networks are never secure, which means anyone can see what you are doing on your smartphones or laptops while you are connected to public networks. • Try to avoid using public Wi-fi and logging your accounts containing emails or financial information. www.sattrix.com
