Why MBS? • Formed by combining: • Manchester Business School • Manchester School of Management • Manchester School of Accounting and Finance • Institute of Innovation Research • Now Largest Business School in UK • 2000 on-site students, 200 teaching staff • Part of Largest Single-Site University in UK • International Office dedicated to UG exchange students within Manchester Business School

  10. Your Studies at MBS • Wide range of subjects taught, including: • Accounting and Finance, Economics • Marketing, International Business and Strategy • Operations Technology and Innovation Management • Employment Studies, Psychology, Organisation Studies

  11. Course Information • Students take a full workload of 60 credits per semester – 6 courses. With agreement of home institution, exchange students can take a reduced load of 50 credits but no less than this • 10 MBS credits are equal to 5 ECTS • Students attending in semester one only are permitted to take special assessments in place of January examinations enabling them to leave at the end of the teaching period in December • Students attending for the full year or semester two are expected to take all examinations

SEMESTER DATES SEMESTER 1 • Mid September to December One week break – reading week (early November) Semester 1 examinations January (Special Assessments for semester 1 only students) Semester 1 finishes end January SEMESTER 2 • End January – March/April Easter break – three weeks Examinations mid-May – mid-June Two public holidays in May Semester 2 finishes mid-June (No Special Assessments for semester 2)
