EDIP • Weapons instruction taught EDIP: • (E) Explain - Instructor explains procedure. • (D) Demonstrate – Instructor demonstrates procedure. • (I) Imitate – Students mirror instructor as each step is demonstrated. • (P) Practice – Students practice procedures under instructor’s direction and supervision. • EDIP suited to procedural skills like weapons handling, reloads, etc.

  8. Wearing of Gear • New holster • CPP covers wearing of gear to facilitate weapons handling and marksmanship.

  9. Ready ELP CPP • Eyes oriented over front sight toward threat area. • Facilitates faster presentation by punching forward while rolling rear sight up to achieve sight picture.

  12. Fundamentals • The fundamentals are the same in ELP as in CPP. • Coaching techniques are augmented and explained further in CPP.

  13. Sight Picture • CPP fires on a different target (MPMS-1) so sight picture is different. • This target design reduces anticipation and related shooting problems. • Target is combat realistic.

Changes in Weapons Handling ELP CPP • Lower workspace • Chamber check • Higher workspace • Determining the condition of the weapon • Determining condition of weapon is done whenever deemed necessary; after fight is over, prior to holstering. • Repetition is built into CPP live fire to train procedures for determining the condition of the weapon. • Higher workspace allows: • Eyes to remain on threat. • Movement with weapon.

  16. CPP Position Analysis • Detailed position analysis. • Grip • Wrists • Arms • Body position • Head • Fault check stability of hold via Observation Method and Laser Pen Method.

  17. Dry Practice • MTC CMT’s provide EDIP Instruction • Scripts for EDIP Instruction provided in student binder • T3 Students practice in groups. • Final Evaluation (Thursday) after ISMT
