  1. ISTANBUL TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY Water and Marine Science Application and Research Center

  2. Approach • The main mission is to carry out interdisciplinary research projects investigating the coastal dynamics processes under the effects of natural and man made activities. The Center aims to enlarge the research spectra by cooperating with European partners via partnerships in research projects in order to gain and share experience by improving and applying novel methods and technologies. • Scientific, managerial and structural based studies (i.e., coastal sediment transport, lagoon-sea interactions, wave predicted methods, planning to sensitive zone managements, breakwaters, marine pipelines outfall systems structural and non structural shore protection) were/are focused in the coastal zones. In order to achieve the group goals, experimental and numerical methods are employed together with remote sensing techniques and GIS.
